x-osted from my other blogs :)

"My favorite podcasts"

Originally I'd been planning on making this post long and drawn out.... but now I just feel like putting it down on paper (so to speak)-- so, I'll list the shows--- a link to the sites, a description, and the feed....

and save an in depth essay on my love of podcasts and desire to do one of my own till a later date....

first.... the only podcast that I'm still picking up directly through itunes:

the Renaissance Festival Podcast done by friend the amazing Mark Gunn of the Brodbignagian Bards

http://renaissancefestivalmusic.com/RenFestPodcast.rss
http://www.renaissancefestivalmusic.com/

check out the show from 7/04/05... one of the first tracks is "bring me some whisky"-- with the refrain "I need a lover mother, no not my brother mother-- I need a sheep to keep me warm through the night"--- hilarious!

next: a spoken word podcast imitating my favorite-- joe frank (if you're not familiar-- check out joefrank.com and take a listen)

-- Benjamen Walker's Theory Of Everything
-- Like Frank-- the best and worst things about these stories is the fact that half the time you can't tell what is true and what he's just pulling out of his ass:

for some good mambo or merengue:ritmo latino podcast

http://www.ritmolatino.org/
http://ritmolatino.libsyn.com/rss

and finally my 3 favorite goth/new wave/ebm/industrial music podcasts

first regen radio
http://www.regenmag.com/podcast.html
http://www.regenmag.com/blog/wp-rss2.php

second: the ungodly hour

http://www.theungodlyhour.com/

and finally-- escape from noise

"No wonder Al Gore thinks he is president--this is a most confusing time: The
leading rap singer is white, the world's best golfer is black, and Bill Clinton
just got back from Vietnam." Paul Harvey
A little holiday ... humor? -- Some people obviously take themselves WAY too seriously in academia... as you can plainly see by this attempt to link snowmen to anti-feminist imagery:
